A Building Energy Rating (BER) Certificate

is the measurement analysis of the energy performance of a house or building. The main reason for the introduction of the BERCERT scheme is to allow a system of certification of all buildings. This gives the owner  of the property an indication of the energy efficiency of the building. Buyers of properties will be able to see at a glance the energy efficiency of their proposed purchase. Similar  to the Energy  rating system used for household appliances (Sticker on Washing Machines, Fridges etc)The BER Certificate will rate the energy efficiency of the house on a scale from A to G, where A is the most efficient and G the least efficient.
